BUS services in and around Keighley will be hit by further strikes next month.

The Keighley Bus Company has confirmed members of the Unite trade union have said they will take industrial action over an ongoing pay dispute on Monday January 7 and Tuesday January 15.

This follows an earlier strike in Keighley on December 4.

A Keighley Bus Company spokesman said: “Just as we’ve done on other days of action, we’ll run as many buses as we can.

“We expect to run even more services than previously due to more drivers wishing to come to work.”

A spokesman for transport authority Metro warned: “We’ve been advised drivers at the Keighley Bus Company intend to take further industrial action on January 7 and January 15.

“At the time of publishing this notice, almost every school service operated by Keighley Bus Company will not operate, except for a small number of primary school services.

“Moreover, if a child travels to school using one of their regular service buses, these too will either be cancelled in full or run to a reduced timetable.

“This action is only being taken by the Keighley Bus Company. All services operated by other bus companies are not affected.”
