CROSS Hills Social Club is marking its centenary.

Plans include a members’ night, with entertainers.

And it is intended to stage a display charting the history of the club.

“We are appealing to members past and present to get in touch with any old photos or documents that we could copy and display,” said club secretary, Anita Robertson.

Anyone able to help should call 01535 632270 or e-mail crosshillssocialclub@hotmail.co.uk.

More details about the event will be released later.

This month, the club is staging a Burns Night celebration.

A banquet is being held on the night itself, Friday, January 25, for which a haggis is being brought from Scotland.

Barry Reay will toast the haggis and say the Selkirk Prayer.

The carving will be performed by Carol Ellison.

“I am very proud of the way members have come together to organise this event and with a new disabled access soon to be in place I hope a lot more people from the village and surrounding area will come along and join-in with our events,” said Mrs Robertson.

“There are lots of plans for events and trips this year, so it is looking like a good one ahead for the club.”
