PARISH councillors in Oxenhope agreed to allocate £250 to support community celebrations welcoming the Tour de Yorkshire’s return to the village this spring.
District councillor Russell Brown presented his plans to again work with youngsters in the village to create prominent Tour-themed roadside decorations for the race, which will include painted signs and Yorkshire Roses.
He said he was co-operating with Oxenhope Primary School to involve pupils and their families in crafting the decorations.
The fourth stage of the 2019 race – on May 5 – takes in Oxenhope, before heading towards Haworth and Oakworth.
