A KEIGHLEY man fears he was deliberately singled out in a distraction burglary at his Bracken Bank home.

Warren Bright, 50, wants other people to be aware, so they don’t fall victim. He said he briefly stepped outside his bungalow last Monday evening (Jan 7) to allow his dog to urinate in the garden.

He shut the door to his property, but did not lock it. “I was in the garden when a guy in front of the bungalow asked me if I had a Rizla,” he said. “I told him, ‘no, I don’t smoke’, but he didn’t go away, which was strange.

“I turned to go inside and a person came out of my house. He had my trolley which I use to do shopping, and in that was my bag, containing £200, credit and debit cards, my bus pass, cheque books and asthma inhalers.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman responded: ““Enquiries are continuing into this. The suspects are described as two white males.

“One was short with dark brown or black hair wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and blue jumper. The second is a tall male wearing a checked scarf, hooded top and baseball cap.
