HERE’S the new arrival at Matilda’s school who’ll be causing terror for children in Bradford next month.

Elliot Harper has taken on the role of Miss Trunchbull in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Matilda The Musical.

He joined the cast of the touring musical in January 15 in Plymouth, and the show’s residency at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford comes straight afterwards.

Elliot is no stranger to touring after performing on the road in both Jesus Christ Superstar and The Buddy Holly Story.

In the West End he has appeared in The Exorcist, One Man Two Guvnors, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera, and New York in The Silver Tassie.

Tickets for Bradford’s February 19-March 23 run of family show Matilda The Musical are already selling fast.

The production is accompanied by Change My Story, a new education programme inspired by the musical that aims to engage young people in towns and cities on the tour.

With a travelling library of stories led by the musical’s librarian Mrs Phelps and ‘whole school takeovers’, the Royal Shakespeare Company aims to reach over 15,000 children.
