LOCAL people are being sought to take part in a giant outdoor theatre event led by Bradford theatre company Mind the Gap.

The nationally-renowned group, whose main actors have learning disabilities, hopes to build an integrated community cast of over 100 people from across West Yorkshire.

Zara will be presented at the Piece Hall, Halifax, on April 19 and 20.

It will feature a giant baby, 3D projection mapping, and an original music score, and will be performed at only two venues: the Piece Hall, and the following month at the Mary Harmsworth Park, Southwark, London.

Mind the Gap is looking for actors, singers, dancers and performers of all abilities and experience, as well as people to help backstage with film, audience management and cast support.

Mind the Gap associate artist Chris Singleton said: “This is a great opportunity for individuals and groups interested in theatre, performance, and technical production to work on a high-profile, professional event.

“Those involved will have the chance to make positive connections and become a part of a network of respected organisations such as Walk the Plank and Emergency Exit Arts – and of course Mind the Gap.”
