A FIRE broke out in the living room of a Keighley first-floor flat.
A crew from the town's fire station was called out to deal with the incident, off Halifax Road, at about 1.30pm today.
The fire had been partially extinguished by a member of the flats' management staff, but firefighters – some wearing breathing apparatus – used a hose reel to ensure it was properly out.
A special ventilation fan was also brought in to help clear smoke from the property.
The occupant escaped unhurt.
Smoke alarms in the flat activated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but there were no suspicious circumstances.
