VOLUNTEERS banded together for a successful litter pick at a popular beauty spot outside Haworth.
Worth Valley councillor Rebecca Poulsen told Oxenhope parish councillors the event on Penistone Hill had been productive and well attended, despite very cold and windy weather.
“We were afraid we wouldn’t get many people, but in the end we had a really good turnout of people of all ages,” she added.
“A large quantity of rubbish was collected and we felt the area looked much better afterwards.
“There was a lot of interest from people in making the litter pick a regular occurrence.”
