HOSPICE supporters are straining at the leash in readiness for a fundraising event.
A canicross – cross-country running with dogs – is being held to coin-in cash for Manorlands, at Oxenhope.
The event – organised by Skipton canicross group, Running Riot – takes place at Funkirk Farm, Carleton-in-Craven, on April 14.
It is open to runners of all abilities and every size of dog.
The five-kilometre route is across farmland, mainly fields.
Jo Wormald, one of the organisers, said: “Runners and their dogs set off at 15-second intervals and need to stay attached to each other – there are sheep around and the event is in lambing season, so dogs cannot run free!”
All finishers will receive a medal and there’ll be prizes for winners in each age category.
The event is being sponsored by Millies Wolfheart.
Manorlands community fundraiser, Molly Ralphson (pictured), said: “I attended the event last year and it was fantastic. It was such a great atmosphere, with all the different dogs enjoying the run.”
