PARKSIDE School in Cullingworth celebrated World Book Day earlier this month with an I Spy competition.

Students had to write down the names of book characters in a poster.

Librarian Lesley Watson said: “The competition was won by Farrell Gale from class 8G who named 45 characters. Farrell wins a £10 book token.

“The Big Book Quiz held in the Learning Resource Centre at lunchtime was closely fought by seven teams - the reigning year 13 champions retained the title, the glory and Maltesers!

“Other teams took consolation in the fact that the students won’t be here next year!”

World Book Day as an international event that in the UK takes place each year early in March.
