I READ the letter from our local Oakworth councillor – Opposition need to grasp reality (Keighley News, February 28) – and am somewhat bemused.
If he feels a council tax increase of three per cent and for the last two years six per cent is good management then I would like to know what poor management is.
Now I don’t belong to a political party, but his letter seemed like a creepy-crawly way to enhance himself with the executive.
Is it his promotion bid or does he genuinely believe putting my council tax up by £42.48 is a decent thing to do for a retired person on a set income? In my mind Labour supposedly looks after working-class people.
Well they don’t do it very well on this council.
