FREE events are being held at a Keighley arts centre to celebrate Women’s History Month.

The Orange Room at Keighley Creative Space will host ‘meet & make’ sessions on Mondays March 18 and 25 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Informal events allow people to find out more about the history of women in art, get creative, and share a cuppa.

The Orange Room is a newly-opened creative learning and teaching room at Creative Space, which is in the former Sunwin House and Home Store in Hanover Street.

The Orange Room will be open to people want to run or attend art, craft and design workshops, as a spin-off of Creative Space main function providing studios, workshops and gallery space to local artists.

The artists running Creative Space work with Leeds-based East Street Arts, who manage more than 100 similar retail buildings across the country that would otherwise be left empty, and help artists access the spaces with low rents.

The Orange Room was launched last week with guided tours for town and district councillors, including Cllr Brian Morris and Keighley’s deputy town mayor Cllr Peter Corkindale.
