LEEDS Grand has announced a packed season of musicals and plays running through the spring and summer.

Rough Crossing, described as a hysterical play by Tom Stoppard, can be seen at the Grand Theatre from April 1-6.

The stars include John Partridge who appeared in EastEnders before competing on Celebrity Masterchef and performing in musicals A Chorus Line, Chicago and La Cage Aux Folles.

Also in the cast are musicals star Charlie Stemp from Hello, Dolly! and Half a Sixpence, Issy van Randwyck from cabaret group Fascinating Aïda, and Rob Ostlere from TV drama Holby City.

Kinky Boots, a musical adapted from a hit film and featuring songs by Cyndi Lauper, can be seen from April 8-20.

The show will take audiences from the factory floor to the glamorous catwalks of Milan, with a cast including West End star Kayi Ushe, Joel Harper-Jackson and Paula Lane, who plays Kylie Platt in Coronation Street.

The House On Cold Hill, at the Grand from April 29 to May 4, is a drama featuring the BAFTA-nominated Holby City and Heartbeat actor and winner of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing 2017, Joe McFadden.

Also in the play by thriller author Peter James are Rita Simons, who plays Roxy Mitchell in EastEnders, Charlie Clements (Bradley in EastEnders), and Persephone Swales-Dawson (Nico Blake in Hollyoaks).

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to the Grand from June 4-15, when Jaymi Hensley, a member of 2013’s BBC ‘British Breakthrough Band’ of the year, Union J, will don the Technicolor Dreamcoat.

He is taking his first major role in a musical after rising to fame with Union J on The X Factor, having a top 10 album and headlining a major UK tour.

Jaymi later appeared on several hit TV shows, including Celebrity Masterchef (BBC One).

Leeds audiences are encouraged to get their ‘rock’ on as the award-winning musical Rock of Ages makes its first ever visit to the Grand Theatre from July 29 to August 3.

Blood Brothers has made many visits to the Grand Theatre and every time attracts standing ovations night after night.

This story of two brothers separated at birth who grow up, fall for the same girl, and I together on the same day, can be seen from May 7-18.

Classic suspense film The Lady Vanishes will be brought to the stage on July 22-27.
