POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly exposed himself before making racially-aggravated comments at a petrol station.

Officers say a man entered Snax24 – at the Morrisons petrol station in Station Road, Cross Hills – at about 10pm on Saturday.

He exposed himself to a member of staff before making comments to the same person.

A police spokesman said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing for information from those who may have been in the store at the time and who witnessed the incident.”

A man arrested the same evening has been released pending further inquiries.
