A "PINT and Pakora" litter pick will unite people to clean up Dalton Lane and the River Worth.

It takes place on April 13, forming part of Keep British Spring Clean Campaign, promoted by Keep Britain Tidy.

Participants meet outside Wishbone Brewery, in Chesham Street, at 10am.

The day includes a clean-up of Dalton Lane with members of STAR Youth Project, as well as removing rubbish from the Worth with the River Worth friends group.

Equipment and gloves will be available along with complementary drinks and snacks at the brewery. People will be able to sample a River Worth Friends blonde ale, and soft drinks will be on offer.

The work on the river will be led by Aire Rivers Trust, while the Dalton Lane volunteers will be led by the Big Local initiative.

Big Local enabler Shaun O'Hare said: "We're building long-term partnerships with businesses, which are less about a one-off donation and more about how we can work together to bring about lasting change."

Adrian Chapman, of Wishbone, said: "I've wanted to involve The Keep Britain tidy campaign in a branded beer for a while to raise awareness about the litter problem.

"When Keighley Big Local approached us to look at ways of working together it was obvious our thoughts aligned.

"It’s a shame when we arrive at work to find fast food wrappers, drinks cans and vodka bottles.

"And the bits of plastic blowing around all make it into our water courses, and eventually reach the sea."
