A NEW online system has been launched to report planning breaches.

Bradford Council says its new planning enforcement portal makes it easier for the public to report problems, by offering a simpler and clearer layout.

The site features interactive maps enabling people to zoom in and easily identify and report locations.

The initiative also aims to cut back on paper-based processes and reduce printing and postage costs.

A council spokesman said: “We take planning breaches very seriously and carefully investigate all reports.

“The new system makes it easier for people to report potential breaches and is very simple to use.

“It will help people provide accurate information, reducing the amount of back and forth associated with enforcement issues.

“In an environment characterised by significant funding reductions, it is important we do everything we can to reduce costs and introduce efficiencies.”

For people without internet access, reports can still be made in writing to the enforcement team on the fourth floor at Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford BD1 1HX.
