A WORTH Valley-based riding group has a busy start to the spring.

Haworth and Oxenhope District Bridleways Group will hold a pleasure ride with routes of five miles and 10 miles. It begins at 10.30am on Sunday April 14 on the Oxenhope side of the large car park at Penistone Moor.

This will include a guided ride, but a map and instructions will be available for those wanting to ride on their own or with friends. Entry is £5.

The group's annual Easter Egg Hunt on Penistone Moor, starts at 10.30am on Easter Sunday, April 21. Entry is £5, with horse riders, cyclists and walkers all welcome.

On Easter Monday, April 22, there will be a Working Hunter Clinic at Ashday Hall Equestrian Centre, in Southowram, with Caroline Birkett.

Tuesday April 23 is the group's monthly meeting, when the speaker will be Adam Yates, of Natural Horsemanship. Juniors meet at 6.30pm with the main meeting starting at 7.30pm in the Old White Lion, Main Street, Haworth. Entry is £1 for members and £2 for non-members.

On Sunday April 28 the group holds its first dressage competition at Upper Marsh, Oxenhope. It will also count as the first contest in a new dressage league.

Sunday May 6 will feature the British Horse Society (BHS) access awareness ride from Penistone moor, with routes of five, 10 or 15 miles. This is a sponsored ride with BHS rosettes, and costs £10 for entry or minimum sponsorship.
