DENHOLME artist Lauren Tordoff has unveiled her newly-refurbished studio in the village for child and adult art sessions.

Following the facelift the Mini Creations studio in the Mechanics Institute also has a café-bar and can be used as a venue for a host of events.

Lauren has lived in Denholme since she was 13 and has been a professional abstract artist for more than six years.

In 2017 she opened Mini Creations Studio because she felt there were not enough local activities for young children.

She expanded the project to run monthly family sessions and adult art classes and decided last year that the time was right to modernise the facility.

The public were able to see the transformation at an official launch on April 6 after a month of work.

She said: “The room is available to hire and truly is one of a kind.

“It is hidden gem.

“We have completely revamped and modernised the room. We are providing a modern bespoke venue with a bar and cafe, available for all occasions.

“Through the week we host the venue as an art studio and bespoke cafe for children and adults. On weekends we host big events with our sponsor for the community to socialise.”

The venue and children’s art studio has been sponsored by Lee’s Barbers Shop in Bingley and the refurbishment was carried out by a team of staff and tradespeople.

Lauren originally set up Mini Creations Studio because her daughter had a passion for art but there was a shortage of community activities where children could socialise while having fun with art.

She said: “Now I work with all ages of children helping them feel confident with art, allowing them to express themselves to create their own masterpieces.

“My adult classes give people confidence and a place to visit. My classes help adults with anxiety, loneliness and depression.”

Mini Creations Studio currently hosts art classes for children and adults through the week.
