KEIGHLEY-district schools are limbering-up for a fourth annual summer games.

Beckfoot Oakbank, Holy Family and Parkside are among 16 secondary schools from across the region that have entered the event.

The games – organised by Hanson School, Bradford – will be held in June.

More than 800 students and young leaders are expected to take part.

“The event has grown and grown and this year – for the first time – it will be run over three days and will include two different venues,” said Alistair Young, director of sport performance and excellence at Hanson School.

“It will provide an amazing experience for the young people of our region and hopefully encourage them all to continue participating in sport and physical activity throughout their lives.

“We are keen to hear from any local businesses which would be interested in sponsoring or supporting the event and helping us deliver a truly inspirational experience for participants.”

The games will take place at Eccleshill Pool and Hanson, starting on June 18.

Activities will include swimming, rugby league, triathlon, cycling, badminton, athletics, rounders, cricket and indoor rowing

Any businesses interested in offering support are asked to contact Mr Young on a.young@hansonacademy.org.uk or 07932 570922.
