PEOPLE of all ages were treated to a variety of St George's Day entertainments in the centre of Keighley.

The fun was laid on by Keighley Town Council in Church Green on Tuesday. (April 23)

Among the attractions enjoyed by youngsters and their families were a bouncy castle, a trampoline, a face painter, and a performer in the Bracewell Dragon mascot costume from Cliffe Castle.

Councillor Kaneez Akthar, chairman of the town council's events and leisure committee, thanked councillors and council staff for contributing to make the occasion a success.

She also paid tribute to the Urban Meadows project, which offered people food and drinks at Church Green.

She added: "It was a glorious day. We had good weather and a fantastic attendance from local people.

"The Keighley Cougars mascot came down and we also had the dragon loaned to us from Cliffe Castle Parks group which went down very well. The kids loved it and lots had their pictures taken with the dragon.

"We've had many positive comments from people who came along. It is always worth having these types of gatherings on Church Green, and it's all about bringing communities together."
