THERE’S no pulling the wool over the eyes of Silsden Moor farmer Andrew Throup.
He enjoyed success at Skipton Auction Mart’s annual Easter breeding sheep show and sale of ewes with lambs at foot.
Mr Throup, of Middle Marchup Farm, was responsible for the winning pairs pen.
He won the class with a brace of Texel-cross ewes acquired from auction mart regular Ben Townsend, both with twin Beltex lambs at foot.
They sold for £260 each to the co-judges, Steeton husband-and-wife George and Gladys Emmott.
Mr Throup also had second-prize successes at the event.
The show classes were among an entry of 1,184 breeding sheep, comprising 456 ewes and 728 lambs at foot.
Standards were high and there was a packed ringside.
