A CROSS Hills firm is celebrating a bumper year of fundraising for Manorlands.

Regal Interiors coined-in £3,122 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice – twice the amount raised during the previous year.

Activities began with a 'virtual' cycling challenge, in which participants covered a massive 874 miles – equivalent to the distance between Land's End and John O'Groats.

The initiative was launched at Manorlands' annual garden party, an event which the company – based at the Crossings Business Park – also sponsored and had a stall at.

Staff and fitters took turns on the bikes, with Regal Interiors offering £1 in sponsorship for every mile covered.

Tribute is paid by Manorlands community fundraiser, Liv Moffat.

"We are so grateful to everyone at Regal Interiors for the money they have raised during the year – £3,122 is a fantastic amount," she said.

"It costs £3.2 million a year to run the hospice and only part of these costs is covered by statutory funds.

"This year we need to raise £2.1 million in donations to continue to provide our specialist care services."
