KEIGHLEY women will this month learn how to make their voice heard on national issues during a special workshop.

Calling All Women: Discover Parliament will show participants how national decisions affect them and in turn how they can influence policy at the highest level.

Regeneration body Keighley Big Local has again teamed up with the Houses of Parliament Outreach Service to run the 90-minute session.

They have run previous Parliament workshops with Keighley College, Bradford Youth Service and disability group Keighley and Craven People First.

Big Local volunteers are keen to continue the workshops to build further successful alliances with local organisations.

The latest workshop, on Wednesday May 22 at 10am at East Riddlesden Hall, will involve the Keighley e5’s Women’s Project and will be specially tailored to women and women’s groups.

Jo Horrox, from e5 Womens Project, said the workshop was an exciting opportunity for the women of Keighley.

She said: “Come and find out how Parliament works and how to influence your MP on issues that matter to you.”

The event is free, and a shuttle bus service will run from and to Parkwood, Lawkholme and Keighley College. Refreshments will be available.
