ALAN Calkeld joined Keighley haulage firm McDowell as a teenage garage worker and is now celebrating his silver service.
Alan, known to workmates as Yoyo, soon qualified Class 1 HGV driver and went on to spend 25 years with the well-known company.
He this month marked the occasion with colleagues at McDowell’s Thunderbird Depot at Valley Road in Keighley.
R McDowell Haulage & Distribution Ltd, which delivers goods across the entire UK mainland, also has depots in Bristol, Milton Keynes and Bellshill in Scotland.
A McDowell spokesman said: “Alan’s 25 years of service represents an achievement for which we can all aspire to achieve. He is an example to us all.
“His passion and desire to deliver the best service to our company and our customers have been ever-present, and his dedication to maintaining his many vehicles throughout the years has never faltered.
“Past and present owners of R McDowell Haulage & Distribution Ltd wish to extend their thanks to Alan for his dedicated service.”
