KEIGHLEY students returning home for the summer could receive a cash boost.
TV Licensing estimates that nearly 11,000 students across the district may each be eligible for a £50 refund.
To qualify, they need to have an existing licence and be leaving their halls or rented accommodation for a licensed address.
“Many students are unaware that they can claim a refund on their TV licence when returning home for the summer and so could be missing out on extra money in their pockets,” said Tim Downs, for TV Licensing.
“Applying for a refund is quick and easy and we encourage all students who are eligible, or their parents in some cases, to take advantage of it.”
Applications can be made online or over the phone. Students should have their TV licence to hand and evidence that is no longer needed, such as a copy of their end-of-tenancy agreement.
