JUNE marks the start of a season of blues-rock concerts at Keighley’s newest live venue Studio 5.

Bingley music promoters BAC2Live have teamed up with the performance spot for a summer-autumn programme featuring internationally-known acts.

John Verity, Warner E Hodges and Eliana Cargnelutti will headline gigs at the 150-capacity club on the top floor of the Jam On Top recording and rehearsal complex.

Jam On Top is owned and managed by Brian and Tracey Leach, and for several years has been used by many local and national bands, as well as hosting youth music projects.

Brian and Tracy teamed up with BAC2live in January to bring touring acts to the town, kicking off with French guitar wizard Felix Rabin.

Félix will return on October 11 with his trio, after being rebooked just four days after his “sensational” showcase performance in Keighley on Easter Monday.

The blues-rock season kicks off on June 29 with local legend John Verity celebrating 50 years as a solo artist.

John and his band will perform an unplugged concert, one of only three this year, highlighting John’s entire career.

The show will be recorded live for future release, and a track will be donated Music for Manorlands CD being curated by Brian Leach.

September 27 will bring Warner E Hodges from Nashville Tennessee to Keighley for the first time.

A founder member of Jason and the Scorchers, Warner is a member of Dan Baird and Homemade Sin who have played Keighley in the past.

A spokesman said: “Warner brings his own brand of high-energy Southern Rock and blues mixed with a little country.”

Italian guitar heroine Eliana Cargnelutti will return to Keighley on November 8 after playing the town last year as part of the Ladies of the Blues tour. This time she is supported by Lee Ainley’s Blues Storm.

The spokesman added: “Both ladies have teamed up again to bring their fiery blues-rock to town, and both will have new albums out to co-inside.”
