THE RUSSIAN Philharmonic (of Novosibirsk) will close the latest international orchestral season at St George’s Hall in Bradford. The audience on Friday May 24 will hear what is regarded as one of the greatest Russian regional orchestras.

The ensemble, conducted by Thomas Sanderling, will perform two works by Tchaikovsky, his richly colourful and joyful Romeo & Juliet Overture and his Violin Concerto, performed by the acclaimed violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky.

Mussorgsky’s vivid and imaginative Pictures at an Exhibition will round off the evening’s programme, culminating in a rousing finale of ‘The Great Gate of Kiev’.

Radio broadcaster Danny Baker will follow his successful Cradle to Grave tour with another high-principled series of one-night stands. The Good Time Charlie’s Back! tour will be at St George’s Hall on Tuesday May 28.
