AFTER more than 40 years performing live there’s a lot more to singer Eddi Reader than her 1980s hit single Perfect.

She will be at the Square Chapel in Halifax on June 13 to showcase songs from her entire career including those from this year’s EP Starlight.

Reader has followed her acclaimed Cavalier album with the new five-song release. The collection features three unreleased songs from the Cavalier sessions plus double-A single Starlight/My Favourite Dress.

Reader started out in 1978 singing on Scottish country rock tours, then appeared on worldwide festival and concert hall stages with Gang of Four and Fairground Attraction through the Eighties.

She then forged a successful solo career.

The Scotsman wrote: “The energy she uses in a single performance could probably power a wee village on the outskirts of her native Glasgow.”
