AN Utley pub is staging a charity fundraising weekend.

A host of activities is taking place throughout the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, at the Roebuck, in Skipton Road.

Locally-based band Hit the Lights will be performing on Friday (May 24), from 8pm.

Its live acoustic session will include the music of Pink, Bruno Mars and CeeLo Green.

“Make sure you come along – there’s all sorts going on,” the band tweeted.

“We’ll see you there!”

There will also be a Kwizzbit quiz, with £1 entry.

A raffle will run throughout the weekend, with prizes including a meal, haircut, makeovers, bar tabs and shopping vouchers.

Attractions on the Sunday will include face painting.

The fundraising – in aid of the Sunny Days Children’s Fund – is taking place as part of a relaunch weekend at the pub, where Lucy Holland has just taken over as manager.

“It promises to be a fun-filled weekend and a real community event,” she said.

“We hope to see lots of people come along.

“And all the proceeds will go to the Sunny Days charity, which is a great cause.”

Sunny Days raises funds to help children who have a range of conditions, providing grants to support them and their families, for example with day trips or medical equipment. For more details, visit sunnydaysfund.org.uk.
