A CHARITY is appealing for volunteers to help out at its Keighley shop.
Age UK has issued the plea ahead of Volunteers’ Week, which starts on Saturday, June 1.
The organisation is also using the national campaign to celebrate its existing unpaid helpers.
Joanne Kane – manager at the Keighley outlet, in the Airedale Shopping Centre – said: “We are so grateful to all our volunteers, who generously give up their time to help.
“The shop is reliant on the support of volunteers and so we’re appealing to anyone in the area who may be able to donate some time to get involved.
“Not only will you meet new people and be a key part of the community, you will also help us raise vital funds to support older people.
“Anyone who thinks they could help can just pop into the shop or call 01535 690047 and we’ll organise a taster session.
“Even small amounts of time really can make a huge difference.”
Age UK will be celebrating its volunteers on social media, using the hashtag #ProudtobeAgeUK.
