Championship Two

1 Yeadon 127pts

Yeadon are trying to bounce back after last season’s relegation. After losing their first game at Carlton they have posted six wins. The batting of Samad Hammed 268, Gareth Lee 202, Tom Lindsay 182 and Robert Smith 160 has played a big part in taking them to the top. Young spinner James Massheder has shown good form with the ball.

2 Carlton 116pts

Carlton's players have been making the headlines this season. Jonathan Rudge is again the league’s leading wicket taker with 31 - a figure including two eight-wicket hauls. But even he was put in the shade by the record-breaking exploits of Dominican Kershaski John Lewis, above, who made an all-time league best score of 237 not out against Jer Lane. He now has 321 runs and just heads team-mate Daniel White in the runscoring stakes. With a game in hand on Yeadon, Carlton are well placed to push for promotion.

3 Hunslet Nelson 92pts

Nelson are striving to return to Championship One at the first attempt. The bowling of Glen Thompson and Danny Cross will be crucial to those hopes as will the batting of Patrick Hinchliffe and Andrew McIntosh. They have featured in a number of low-scoring games and need to continue to come out on top in these contests.

4 Buttershaw St Paul's 90pts

Jonathan Crossland is the league's top runscorer with 404 after hitting two successive centuries. His runs and those of Kevin McDermott have been key to St Paul's good start. If the bowlers can follow their example. they will remain firmly involved in the promotion race.

5 Birstall 89pts

Runs at the top of the order from veteran Eric Austin and talented youngster Josh Haynes have been the key ingredients for Birstall so far this season. Haynes, the 2018 Gordon Bowers Young Cricketer of the Yeart, has also taken 14 wickets with his left-arm spin.

6 East Ardsley 83pts

Overseas player James Van der Merwe has proved a big hit with bat and ball for East Ardsley. The former East Leeds and Ossett player has scored 259 runs as well as taking 13 wickets. Van der Merwe has been backed up by Joshua Wild 169 while the ageless David Battye continues to be a model of economy with the ball.

7 Spen Victoria 80pts

After starting the season with two wins Spen have suffered four defeats. Their batting has relied heavily on Sam Gatenby 306 and Bilal Ejaz 231 as no other player has reached 100 runs. It is a similar story in the bowling where Abid Awan has 25 wickets and is easily their most-successful player. More players need to step up if Spen are to avoid sliding down the table.

8 Jer Lane 78pts

Newly-promoted Jer Lane are another side dropping back after a good start. Overseas paceman Hazrat Shah has impressed with 17 wickets in a side which relies on the experience of men like Amjid Khan and Imran Mirza. Jer Lane are ambitious and will be hoping to start climbing the table again

9 Hopton Mills 77pts

Mills have been dogged by inconsistency this season. On their day they are a match for anybody and are capable of posting challenging scores on their home ground. Mark Ashton has shown good form to score 198 runs while all-rounder Umar Abbas has chipped in with wickets and runs.

10 Bowling Old Lane 73pts

The Jack Hampshire Cup holders are surprisingly down in 10th place. They have repeatedly shown they have strength in their batting but their bowlers have yet to make a big impression. Skipper Farakh Hussain is one of the league's most destructive batsmen and will be hoping his side can start climbing the table.

11 Northowram Fields 70pts

Northowram Fields are slowly finding their form after a sluggish start to the season. Opening bowler Sam Gardner has the ability to build on his 18 wicket haul while the team will be looking for their batsmen to find the sort of form which will enable them to push into the top half of the table.

12 Altofts 59pts

It has been a tough start to the season for Altofts who are missing the explosive batting of Farroukh Alam who joined Undercliffe in the close season. The recent departure of skipper Kieran Holliday to Carlton was a further blow for a side fighting to avoid relegation.

13 Liversedge 58pts

Liversedge have been a team on the up in recent weeks with their batsmen compiling some impressive scorers. Winter recruit Sohail Hussain from Brighouse has already scored 352 runs including 150 against Bowling Old Lane. If the Liversedge bowlers can find some form as escape from relegation is a distinct possibility.

14 Adwalton 42pts

Newly-promoted Adwalton are still searching for a first win despite producing a number of battling performances. The loss of key players Ryan Robinson, Gareth Lee and Tom Lindsay to Yeadon was a big blow but young wicketkeper-batsman Josh Bennett continues to enhance his reputation despite his team’s struggles.

1 Sandal 102pts

Sandal have been setting the pace in the race for the one promotion place. Matthew Westwood has set the tone for his side's batting, while paceman Sam Noden and Australian Ryan Bishop Perrett have provided crucial wickets for ambitious Sandal.

2 Great Preston 95pts

Great Preston are seven points behind Sandal having played a game more, but they are determined to push the leaders all the way in the title race. James Marston, back from a season at East Ardsley, has made 207 runs while new Australian all-rounder Tyson Freeman has scored 186 runs and taken 15 wickets.

3 Gildersome & Daisy Hill 66pts

Gildersome & Farnley Hill have looked a much-improved outfit this season and their batting has been particularly good. That was clear from the first game when Reece Thompson, above, and skipper Richard Bedford both hit centuries.

Brighouse are finding their feet in the Conference following relegation last season. Tanvir Bashir has proved to be their top scorer, but the bowlers need to make a bigger impact if Brighouse are to close the gap on the top two.

5 East Leeds 59pts

East Leeds have only lost once in six game and will be hoping they can produce the run of wins that would push them closer to the leading teams, Zahid Tarvas has been the best of their batsman.

6 Windhill & Daisy Hill 56pts

The signing of the experienced all-rounder Tabbi Bhatti has been a big boost for Windhill & Daisy Hill. He is currently their top scoring batsman and joint top wicket-taker. Windhill will be hoping he can inspire them to further victories as the season unfolds.

Rodley in seventh place despite their batsmen consistently struggling for runs. They will need to improve both their runscoring and wicket taking if they are to maintain their current position

The individual statistics suggest Oulton should have more than one win to their name. Matt Boucher and Jonathan Henshaw have been consistent runs scorers while Jack Andrews has bowled well. The ingredients look to be there for Oulton to start climbing the table.

Crossbank Methodists have found the going tough with just one win so far. They know that an upturn in form is needed if this is not to become a season of continued struggle.
