OAKWORTH Juniors Football Club is staging its annual fun day.

And organisers hope as many people as possible from the community will turn out to show their support.

The event takes place at the club’s ground, off Goose Cote Lane, on Sunday (June 16).

Attractions will include cake and sweet stalls, a bouncy castle, a penalty shoot-out, face painting and a hook-a-duck competition. And from noon, Owzitstart line dancers will entertain.

There will be a bar, refreshments and a barbecue.

Funds raised will be ploughed back into the club.

Secretary Dan Otterburn said the event, which starts at 10am, would also be an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about the club.

“We are a club at the heart of the community,” he said.

“We have teams for all ages – children from four upwards can join us.

“If anyone is interested in their children joining, or just wants to discover more about how we operate, this would be a good chance to find out.

“But it’s also just going to be a great day out for all the family, with lots to do and plenty of food and drink to enjoy.”
