A NINE-year-old Oxenhope girl organised a lunchtime bake sale to raise £170 for Manorlands.
Ella Whitrick enlisted the help of teachers and five friends at Oxenhope Primary School to run the event to raise both money and awareness about cancer.
Ella decided to run the bake sale for an entire week, but only told her mum Charlotte the night before the first sale.
Ella’s father Dan said: “Charlotte had a few late nights up baking. Ella’s friends and parents were also very busy baking, and Ella’s granny helped a lot too.
“Cancer has affected our family in recent years and very recently, and at such a young age Ella has done all of this all off her own back.”
Manorlands, which is nearby in Oxenhope, presented certificates to the girls to acknowledge their efforts.
