ONE of the defendants in the conspiracy-to-murder shooting trial has been cleared of the offence and discharged from the dock.

Sakib Ditta, 24, of Greystones Drive, Keighley, and his three co-accused have all been found not guilty on the judge's direction of the conspiracy to murder charge.

In a sudden development this morning in front of the jury, Usman Nawaz, 24, formerly of Oak Lane, Manningham, Bradford, now at an address in Blackburn, and Mohammed Yasin, 25, of Braithwaite Avenue, Keighley, pleaded guilty to a new alternative offence of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The fourth defendant, Hasanain Murtaza, 23, of Highfield Drive, Heaton, Bradford, admitted assisting an offender.

The jury heard that the Crown was offering no evidence on the conspiracy to murder charge on all four of the defendants.

Mr Ditta no longer faces any charges and his involvement in the case is at an end, but the other three defendants will be sentenced on Monday.
