A CONVICTED offender could have been in hot water for providing a cold urine sample for a drugs test.
The man failed the test and was suspected of swapping samples, although he denied this. He had returned to Bradford Crown Court for a Review hearing when a judge looks at a monthly report from the probation service to assess an offender’s progress.
The man, a drug addict spared prison for possession of an offensive weapon, was told by the judge: “You’ve been a bit naughty, haven’t you?”
He had failed the drugs test because of “the temperature of his urine.” The judge said the man was otherwise making very good progress on his court order. “Every goal you achieve is worthwhile, even little ones,” he told him.
The judge urged the man to come back next time with negative tests for heroin and cocaine.
