ONE of the biggest annual schools five-a-side football festivals in the country is taking place in Keighley next week.

A total of 112 teams are participating in the event, at Marley Activities and Coaching Centre.

The four-day festival begins on Monday (June 24), with games kicking-off at 4pm.

Boys and girls aged between eight and 14 are taking part.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s executive member for healthy people and places, said: “Primary and secondary school pupils from all over the district are taking part in this popular festival.

“It is important that young people are provided with enjoyable opportunities to take part in physical activity and sport, which is the message we are pushing home through our b-active campaign.

“Be active, be healthy and have fun – it’s as simple as that.”
