HAVING recently read about the proposed plans for yet more housing on a greenfield site in Eastburn – Community in battle over greenfield homes (Keighley News, June 6) – I am left puzzled and angry.
Why do we have protected green spaces and trees when quite clearly this could and can be overturned? I suppose the recent Development Plans will also not be worth the paper they are written on too?
The current trend for housebuilding is quite clearly driven by profits and not need. Many are built in the wrong areas and are far too expensive to ease any accommodation crisis.
Our infrastructure is already struggling throughout the country and once the landscape is paved over, it will not return.
