A MAJOR road has reopened following a serious crash.

Godley Road in Halifax was closed at the Stump Cross/New Bank junctions.

Emergency services were called to the crash at around 11.30pm last night, where a Subaru Impreza had crashed into a wall at the top of the road.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said four males were in the car.

They managed to get the two rear passengers out okay, but the spokesman said it was a complicated process to free the two front passengers and it took some time to do.

It involved taking the roof and sides off the car and forcing up the dashboard to release them.

They were put on spinal boards and taken to the Leeds General Infirmary.

Four ambulances were sent to the scene, along with the Hazardous Area Response Team and police.
