A KEIGHLEY-based IT firm is celebrating ten years of supporting one of the town's oldest companies.

Cosurica's link-up with steel service provider John W Laycock Ltd began when the historic company, founded in 1810, was based in North Street and had just a handful of standalone PCs.

Microsoft Access was installed and a bespoke database configured.

Since then Cosurica has continued to provide backing, including when Laycock relocated to new offices and extended warehousing at Stockbridge in 2011 and needed a better way to store and share documents and other data.

And it was on hand with support when the devastating floods of December, 2015, affected Laycock's premises.

Mark Sugden, managing director of John W Laycock Ltd, pays tribute to the help received.

"The first server that Cosurica installed for us in 2011 suited us well until about two years ago – in the last few years it became clear we’d need new systems to grow with us," he said.

"Cosurica’s team worked really well with our chosen software vendor to keep things running smoothly, and they’ve implemented a cloud-based disaster recovery solution to ensure we can be back up and running very quickly if we’re ever affected by flooding again.

"As we rely increasingly on our IT, we also rely on Cosurica’s superfast response.

"We are both family-run firms sharing a common set of values.

"Cosurica’s honesty and no-nonsense approach to IT has saved us time and money over the last decade."

He added: "We achieved our best-ever financial results last year.

"On the back of our investment in IT, we pushed our stock level accuracy to 99.6 per cent at the 2018-19 year end.

"We look forward to building on our vital partnership with Cosurica to generate further significant improvements for our customers, our team and our business."

Cosurica managing director Gareth Harrison said Laycock's IT needs had changed dramatically over the past decade, but that his company had been on hand to help deal with any issues, advise on products and services and supply and install them.

He added: "Employees in every business, large or small, need the right tools for their job.

"John W Laycock is a great example of how a business investing in the right IT systems can dramatically increase their performance, efficiency and capacity."
