A FULL seven-concert orchestral season has been announced for St George’s Hall in Bradford. The 152nd Bradford International Classical Music Season will start this autumn and run into 2020, along with the 32nd Chamber Concert Season.

Adam Renton, general manager, said: “We welcome back our resident orchestra, The Hallé, with three concerts this season including their very popular New Year Celebration Viennese Concert. The best international orchestras also return to Bradford including the Prague Symphony Orchestra and St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.”

The Orchestral Concert Season opens with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra on October 26 conducted by José Luis Gomez and with world-renowned guitarist Miloš Karadaglić, performing the Guitar Concerto Aranjuez with its ravishing slow movement. Later there will be performances by The Hallé, Prague Symphony Orchestra, and the European Union Chamber Orchestra.

The St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra joined by pianist Noriko Ogawa close the season on May 29 with an all-Russian programme.

The Chamber Season will move to St George’s Hall following its long residency at Bradford Cathedral., opening on September 27 with celebrated pianist Stephen Kovacevich playing Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert.

The season welcomes award-winning performers including Laura van der Heijden, Roberto Ruisi, Benjamin Grosvenor, Linos Piano Trio, Martin Roscoe,Carducci Quartet and Daniel Storer.
