A SERVICE is being held to welcome two new Salvation Army officers to Keighley.
Captains Josh Selfe and Dafne de Castro e Lemos are taking over the reins at the High Street church.
The welcome and installation service is being held at the church on Sunday, July 21, at 2.30pm.
Everyone is invited to attend to meet the new incumbents. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
The arrival of the captains follows the departure – announced last month – of Ben and Rebecka Cotterill, after five years in Keighley. They have taken-up an appointment in London with the church’s international projects team.
On Tuesday, July 23, Keighley Salvation Army stages its final tabletop sale before the summer break, from 10am to 2pm.
“We have some fantastic goods for sale – many brand new and several vintage,” said Chris Bown, the church’s community manager. "All items are donated and we thank people for their generosity. Proceeds from the event help support our work in Keighley, including the community meal, foodbank and work with families.”
The cafe will also be open.
