COUGAR Park was a sea of rainbow colours as the rugby league team celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Pride movement.

The stadium hosted a special Cougars’ Pride Party & Festival event with celebrities and drag performers as the players took on West Wales Raiders.

The Cougars moved three points clear of the Raiders to score a 50-18 victory in the Betfred League One battle.

Cougars players spotted a one-off kit featuring the rainbow colours of the Pride movement, which supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Invited for the occasion were guests including model and TV personality Katie Price, Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton and Wakefield Trinity prop Keegan Hirst.

Organisers promised an afternoon of drag performers, give-aways and a barbecue.

Club co-owner Ryan O’Neill – son of legendary Cougarmania driving force Mick O’Neill – planned to be there with Brazilian husband Kaue Garcia.

Ryan described the event as a “real celebration for our loyal supporters and volunteers and a party to put the club back on the map”.
