AN OUTDOOR music festival this weekend will raise money for the Long Lee and Thwaites Brow Defibrillator Appeal.

The Dickie Bird pub in Thwaites Brow will hold the event on Saturday July 27 from 1pm to 9pm with non-stop live music from local bands and artists.

The brainchild of landlord and landlady Colin and Bev Cooney. it will also feature hot food, a bouncy castle, charity stalls, and a tombola and raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses and residents.

Admission is by wristband, which costs £4 from the Dickie Bird in advance or on the day. Children under 10 can enter free.

The Defibrillator Appeal was started by town councillors Chris Graham and Leanne Wrench. A JustGiving page has raised £290 towards the target of £1,500.

Chris Graham said: “I attended a CPR course at Bingley Medical Practice, and we were shown a publicly accessible defibrillator on the outside of the building. The nearest one to Long Lee was Keighley Railway Station which would be a 15-minute round-trip.

“Our defibrillator will be installed on the outside of Long Lee Surgery, and the medical practice has agreed to pay the installation costs. We are also organising CPR training in the Village Hall.”
