AN ambulance which helped save lives in Keighley for a decade has turned out again – to a museum!
The vehicle (pictured) is among the exhibits on show at the National Emergency Services Museum in South Yorkshire this summer.
The Ford ambulance was based in Keighley for ten years, from 1986, as part of the then West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service.
It later served as a works ambulance before being sold to a private collector.
Around 50 vehicles from across the years are now on display at the museum, in West Bar, Sheffield.
“The museum offers hands-on history, dynamic displays and unique exhibits over three floors – including preserved Victorian police cells,” said a spokesman.
“It tells the story of more than 200 years of emergency services history.”
A range of special events and children’s activities are also taking place this summer.
