ONE Great Get Together wasn’t enough for the people of Cross Roads and Lees.
They have begun meeting regularly rather than holding one summer Great Get Together like other neighbourhoods around Keighley.
The gatherings for fun, food and socialising are inspired by the murdered MP Jo Cox.
Lees cum Cross Roads Village Association have organised a series of afternoon teas for local residents.
Association spokesman Bev Underwood said: “With thanks to the generous hospitality of the Bronte Hotel the first two of these have been a great success.
“Photographs and stories were shared, old friends caught up with one another and new friendships were made.”
The next Get Together will be on Saturday August 24 from 2pm when all ages can meet in Cross Roads Park for a ‘cuppa and cake’.
Funding has come from Bradford Council, ASDA, and the Village Association’s car boot sales.
The final car boot sales of the season will be at the 3 Acres restaurant, and Bingley Road above Cross Roads, on August 24 and September 21, 8am for sellers, 9am for buyers.
