BECKFOOT Oakbank School in Keighley said it was delighted with its students' "great" post-16 results.

Seventy-six per cent of all year-13 students achieved grades between A* and C – and ten per cent were top A* and A.

The average grade for A-level courses was C, and for BTEC merit +.

Top performers included Claire Mawer, who will study clinical psychology at the University of Lincoln after achieving an A, B and C.

Eloise Mashiter is also heading to Lincoln – to study geography – after gaining a B and two Cs.

Grace Hoyle achieved two A grades and a B and will now be doing medical biochemistry at the University of Manchester.

Adam Laycock is studying business at Leeds Beckett University after he notched-up three B grades.

Leo Pagliuca, who gained two As and a B, is taking-up a place at the University of Sheffield to study materials science and engineering.

Edge Hill University beckons for Chloe Lannen, who will be studying for a psychology degree. She achieved two Bs and a C.

Olivia Avison, who achieved an A and two B grades, is taking a gap year and working full-time in a restaurant.

Shounnara Bibi gained a distinction* and two C grades and will now study history at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Sophie Brown – who achieved a distinction*, A and a C – is heading to Leeds Beckett University to study social work.

And Kai Hewitt gained an A* and two Bs and will be doing an English literature with Scandinavian studies degree course at the University of Edinburgh.

Acting headteacher, Liz Hart, said the school was "incredibly proud" of the students' successes.

"Well done to all the students for their hard work – and their families who have supported them throughout their school career," she added.

"We wish the students well in their next steps.

"I would also like to thank the staff who have worked with the students during their time at Beckfoot Oakbank.

"Despite national changes to reform the A-level and vocational qualifications, our students continue to excel."
