A KEIGHLEY woman is seeking fellow crafters to help her raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Mary Hambleton-Nutt will demonstrate her skills in jewellery making during a fundraising day she is organisingin the Airedale Shopping Centre on September 14.

Shoppers and visitors will be able to watch Mary carry out her work, then will be able to try making their own bracelets and necklaces under her expert tuition.

Mary is urging local people who make other kinds of items, either as a business or a hobby, to run demonstrations alongside her during the day.

She said: “It’s something different, a chance for them to show their own craft, and have people pay a small donation to be shown how to do something they haven’t tried before.

“The person doing the crafts can also sell their work.”

Mary said it was important that those demonstrating had their own public liability certificates in order to take part in the event.

Mary is organising the fundraiser in memory of her sister, who died from bone cancer at the beginning of this year.

Anyone interested in carrying out a demonstration should email joanhnutt63@gmail.com as soon as possible, so she can confirm numbers with the Airedale Centre.
