A RAIL trip to Morecambe was held for people affected by dementia.

A 17-strong group, including carers and supporters, took part in the outing.

The trip was the latest in a series organised by the Bentham Line.

It was supported by train operator Northern.

The Bentham Line follows a route between Leeds and Morecambe, including Keighley.

Gerald Townson, chairman of the line, said: “These outings bring back memories of seaside trips – complete with fish and chips on the sea front.

“The quality of the experience is valued by each individual and it was a memorable day for everyone.”

More trips are planned early next month for Dementia Friendly groups in Keighley and Harrogate.
