STUDENTS at Beckfoot Oakbank School chalked-up some top-class GCSE results.

The school – in Oakworth Road, Keighley – saw an increase in the number of pupils achieving one or more of the highest grades, eight and nine.

Plus, pupils who studied computer science, business, children’s play and sport achieved results which put them in the top 20 per cent of similar schools.

Acting headteacher, Liz Hart, said the year-11 students had worked "incredibly hard" and their successes were well deserved.

She added: "Well done to all the students – and their families who have supported them during this crucial part of their education.

"We are incredibly proud of the students’ successes and are delighted that many of them are staying on in our sixth form to continue their studies.

"We wish all our students well in their next steps.

"I would also like to thank the staff who have worked with the students during their time at Beckfoot Oakbank."
