‘GUARDIANS’ of a village park are celebrating continued success in an international awards scheme.
Central Park at Haworth has now achieved the coveted Green Flag award, which gives recognition to well-managed parks and green spaces, for 12 years running.
Mrs Gillian Hill, chairman of the park’s Friends group, said: “With the help of Bradford Council and many generous donations we have been able to improve our grade-two listed park with a new bandstand and flowerbeds and our current project – a memory garden, which provides a quiet corner where visitors can just sit or leave padlocks on a commissioned sculpture in memory of loved ones.”
People can join the Friends for £5 a year, or £15 corporate membership. Call at Haworth Community Contact Point.
